ChuukState.org is the official website for the Chuuk Reform Movement (CRM). We are a citizen-led movement to inform, inspire, and engage Chuukese about the things that matter to us Chuukese. It was founded and administered by Vid Raatior on behalf of the people of Chuuk at home and abroad.
Our mission is to engage citizens in improving Chuuk State as a part of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). We believe that improving the state of our Chuuk fiscally, politically, educationally, socially, culturally and spiritually should be our top priority and focus to prepare for 2023 when the economic provision of the Compact is scheduled to expire. Only when we have reformed our Chuuk to a healthy, ethical, and vibrant state can we even begin to think about becoming a nation. We truly believe that citizens can positively influence our political leaders if we combine our individual breaths to form strong typhoons that will blow the winds of change for a better and more prosperous Chuuk.
Our Guiding Principles
The Chuuk Reform Movement is empowered by the belief that the solutions to our many problems in Chuuk today are the responsibility of every Chuukese citizen. While we lay the majority of the blame on failed leadership, we as citizens of Chuuk are equally culpable by our silence, indifference, and ignorance. Through our network of reformers, we are resolved to never again allow ignorance to control our decisions, indecisions undermine our voting power, handouts manipulate our hearts, and our culture of humility to hinder our duty to question our leaders. Our Areas of Focus
This website is envisioned as your virtual uut or meeting house. Since the Chuuk State government has no official website for its citizens at home and abroad to access services, then this website will serve that purpose without the control of politicians. For now it contains mostly the agenda topics and news articles, but we are continuing to build it out to contain available government forms and procedures, scholarship information and forms, key contacts in the government, etc. We encourage our fellow citizens to share news about the good and inspirational things that our Chuukese people everywhere are doing.
